Five Conference Topics, One New Brand, Delivered at Record Speed – A Website for Compass AI & Tech Summit

CraftHub brought together five of its previous conference brands under the new Compass AI & Tech Summit, which, however, had no online presence of its own when the project began. This was also preventing ticket sales from starting and sponsors from being approached, even though launching at the beginning of the year was critical from a business perspective due to corporate training budgets and annual calendar planning. The goal was to create a premium, English-language conference website that builds credibility for the new brand, appeals to local and international developers, and establishes the online foundation for ticket and sponsorship sales in time. The first version had to be completed in just nine weeks, including the holiday period.

Ticket sales could not wait for the entire website

The most important business consideration was to ensure that Compass would be included in companies' planning at the beginning of the year. A complete conference website that would only be ready later was not enough: the event's most important information and the option to purchase tickets had to be available as early as February.

We therefore divided the development into two phases. First, we created the MVP required to launch ticket sales, then built the more comprehensive conference website on top of it. This allowed promotion and sales to begin before every content and functional element was in place.

The fact that we took development considerations into account during the design phase also helped us meet the tight deadline. Throughout our collaboration, we ensured that the project stayed within the agreed framework by appointing a dedicated point of contact, holding weekly meetings, and keeping the designs accessible in one place, so that decisions could be made quickly.

Five conference topics, one cohesive visual identity

The Compass AI & Tech Summit brought together five previous conference topics: AI/ML, UX/UI, data, product, and engineering leadership. The challenge was to present these different professional communities under a single new brand while allowing each to retain its own character.

For the visual design, we further developed CraftHub's existing „tube” identity, built around metro lines. The shared metro concept brings the five disciplines together into a unified whole, while the separate content sections help visitors discover the topics relevant to them. This meant we did not have to create an entirely new visual identity: instead, we developed the existing visual world further to meet the needs of the new event.

Implementation

  • Web development
  • Website operations and maintenance

Ticket sales from the first version, independent content management on the complete website

We developed the WordPress-based website so that the first version would already support the launch of ticket sales, while subsequent expansions would serve the full communication and programme presentation needs of the conference.

  • Two-phase development: The MVP went live on February 6, 2026, at exactly 9:00 a.m., precisely on the agreed deadline. In the second phase, we expanded the system with additional pages and features.
  • Ti.to ticketing: We integrated the ticket purchasing system and implemented the management of the four pricing periods: Early Bird, Regular, Late, and Lazy Bird.
  • Editable conference content: We created an administration interface through which the CraftHub team can update information about speakers, talks, and other conference content without developer assistance.
  • Custom features: We implemented a „Save the Date” solution that allows visitors to add the event to their calendars, as well as the management of editable CTA buttons and informational elements.
  • Handover and operations: We supplemented the training with video guides and a recording of the entire training session. After the handover, we also provide maintenance and further development.

Where we started – where we arrived

The Compass AI & Tech Summit MVP went live on February 6, 2026, just nine weeks after the contract was signed, despite the holiday period, enabling the CraftHub to launch the conference brand's communications and ticket sales on time. The full conference website was completed on April 16 and approved by the client on April 22. The client also commissioned ongoing maintenance and, just seven weeks after the MVP launch, requested a proposal for the redesign of the Craft Conference 2027 website.

Brand assets

We adapted the existing „tube” visual identity to the Compass's five conference topics. The differently coloured lines running throughout the website evoke the logic of metro networks: they connect the content sections of the site, while the colours help distinguish the individual disciplines. This visual system also reappears on the speaker cards, where the coloured labels clearly indicate the speakers' respective subject areas. Bold headlines and clearly separated sections complete the concept, giving the conference a consistent and easily recognisable appearance.

Structured Presentation, Clear Navigation

At a conference that brings together several disciplines, it is particularly important that visitors can quickly find the talks that interest them. The website therefore presents speakers, professional topics, and programmes on separate, dedicated interfaces. In the interactive schedule, visitors can filter talks by day, stage, and topic, making it easier to review the conference offering and plan their attendance.

Efficient Operations, Even Without Developers

The content of the conference website changes continuously as the event approaches. With our custom WordPress solution, the CraftHub team can independently manage speaker profiles, programme information, and other dynamic content. We made the process easier by providing a recorded training session and video guides for specific parts of the administration interface, ensuring that the necessary knowledge remains accessible within the team.

Our collaboration did not end with the handover of the website: through ongoing maintenance and development, we can also respond quickly to needs that arise later.

Page Overview

We developed the website with a responsive design, so the content adapts to the screen size on mobile devices, tablets, and desktop computers. This is particularly important for a conference where visitors may use the website in different situations and on different devices, from purchasing tickets to browsing the programme.

Summary

With the Compass AI & Tech Summit website, we established the online presence of a new conference brand and opened the way for ticket sales and event marketing in just nine weeks. The completed platform ultimately helped reach around 1,000 participants and supported the entire user journey, from showcasing the five professional tracks to purchasing tickets. The success of our collaboration is reflected not only in the on-time delivery of the website and the client's 5/5 rating. Following the Compass project, CraftHub entrusted us with redesigning the website for its next conference, extending our partnership through an even larger project.
